Eye Examination

Eye Tests at just £25 or free on the NHS

What to expect at your eye test

Your vision is amazing – you use it for approximately 16 hours a day every day and without it, you would struggle to carry out the vast majority of your daily tasks. Additionally, research suggests that over 80% of perception, learning, cognition and activities are mediated through vision.

At Eye Express, when you visit us for your eye examination, the test will take between 20 and 30 minutes. It will be carried out by one of our expert optometrists and they will be more than happy to answer any questions that you may have.

During your eye examination our optometrist will carry out a series of tests and procedures to determine the health of your eyes. You will have:

  • Your field vision checked
  • Your standard vision – both with and without any existing eyewear – measured
  • Your suitability for a prescription checked using a combination of instruments and lenses
  • Your prescription refined using lenses to establish which provide you with the best standard of vision

Rest assured, your experience at Eye Express does not end with an examination. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff are always on hand to advise you about the various ways in which our products can meet your optical needs. This includes a very broad range of spectacles, contact lenses and sunglasses.

We provide eye tests for patients with glaucoma and diabetes. We also provide NHS funded diabetic eye screening at our Perry Barr practice.
