If you are an employer you are legally required to provide your staff with routine eye care
If you are unsure as to whether you are obliged to provide eye care for your employees, here is everything you need to know.
Under the 1993 Health and Safety DSE Regulations, employers are obliged to provide a sight test for any employee that regularly uses a VDU (Visual Display Unit) for more than one hour during their working day. Employers are also legally required to provide basic spectacles specifically for VDU use if necessary.
At Eye Express, we offer a specialised service to local businesses designed to save you time, effort and money whilst adhering to the strict health and safety regulations. We’re also able to provide both you and your employees with additional benefits.
Our scheme is easily implemented with no set up costs and minimum administrative requirements.
As a member of our Corporate Eyecare Scheme, you will receive:
- Competitive eye examination costs for your employees - £10 (50% off cost of standard eye examination fee)
- VDU specific spectacles at a reduced cost - £50 (£40 saving)
- A full report stating whether VDU spectacles were recommended and why, confirmation on the next recommended sight test date and a reminder when the sight test is due
- A 15% discount off all spectacles and non-prescription sunglasses for all your employees
We are also a part of the Duncan and Todd, Accord and Eye Care Voucher schemes. Please speak with a member of our friendly team for more information.
